Admission procedure for Bachelor's studies

Entrance Exams for Bachelor´s Studies

The Bachelor´s degree can be applied for by the applicants who have completed a secondary school with a secondary school-leaving certificate. When assessing applications, we consider following:

grades in profile subjects: Slovak language and literature, English/German language, social studies;
results of the external part of the secondary examination in a foreign language (B2 or B1 level), or a certificate at B1-C2 level;
study grade point average, especially by applicants for Mass Media and Marketing Communication.

Applicants for extramural studies will be admitted without an entrance exam.

Specifics of individual study programs

Mass Media and Marketing Communication:

Applicants with a 1.30 grade point average are not required to take an entrance exam.
Holders of a certificate in a foreign language (C1, C2) do not have to take the language exam.

Applied Media Studies and Media Relations:

Applicants will be admitted without an entrance exam based on the order.

Digital Game Theory:

All applicants will take an entrance exam. The exam includes an oral interview (online).

Digital Design:

Applicants will be admitted based on their secondary-school results and their portfolio scores (e.g., visual identity elements, such as logos, typography and others, key visuals, such as flyers, posters, et cetera, web or mobile app designs, 3D visualisations, and similar design work).

7 February: Open Day

April 30: Application deadline

Please, submit your application by 30 April. Make sure you have included all the necessary attachments (details below – How to Apply). We will send you an invitation to take the tests in a month or so.

This applies to all study programs except Digital Design – which has a postponed application deadline.

May.

We are sending out two invitations:

You will receive notification by post from the study department that your application has been registered;
In addition, approximately 3 weeks before the admission deadline, we will email you the login details for the testing platform.

7 June: application deadline for DIDI

The only degree programme that has a delayed application deadline is Digital Design.

June: Entrance Tests in Trnava

The tests are done online, in the computer lab in the building of FMK UCM in Trnava.

If you hold a certificate in English at C1 or C2 level, you only take a test on general knowledge and professional purview. Rescheduling the test to another day or time is not allowed due to logistical reasons.

Test results tend to be released on the same day in the evening. However, the final verdict will be known later – read on.

You will send certificates.

As soon as you graduate, send us by post certified copies of:

your school leaving certificate,
year-end report certificate.

Do not postpone it – keeping track of all the applicants´ report certificates is a logistical challenge.

Early July: Admissions Committee Meeting

Once all the attachments have been processed, the Admission Committee meets to review the rankings and determine the pass threshold.

July: Result of admissions

ASAP after the meeting of the Admission Committee, we send the decision of admission result. The document is sent by post in your own hands. If you plan to travel, please remember to authorize your parents to receive the postal item in their own hands.

July: Enrolment in Year 1

Along with your admission decision, we will send you instructions on how to send an electronic return. By sending it, you get enrolled in 1st grade. In August, we will add you to a Facebook group and start communicating with you.
