We work with over 80 partners who connect our study programs with practice in the fields of media, marketing and digital games. Our collaboration activities mainly include the participation of experts in teaching, their mentoring, consulting, and cooperation in the career center.

The Higher Education Video Game Alliance is an international platform that brings together educational institutions in the field of digital games with the aim of expanding the cultural, scientific, and economic significance of digital games. FMK UCM in Trnava has been a member of this organization since 2018, and the organization’s members are an advisory body in the creation of teaching subjects and thematic areas. Membership in HEVGA helps to adapt curricula in terms of current trends and challenges in the gaming industry.
The Digital Games Research Association is an organization that, within the educational process, provides FMK UCM with a wide library of scientific studies focusing on digital studies, thus ensuring a sufficient information base for students of digital game theory within theoretical subjects. In addition, the association holds conferences through which teachers within the study field can educate themselves and expand their knowledge.
The organization supports the education of students in the field of electronic sports, implemented by FMK UCM, mainly through regular communication with the institution’s members and representatives.
Herní historie / RetroHerna – Interaktivní muzeum herní historie (Gaming History / Retro Games Room – Interactive Museum of Gaming History)
Česká organizácia pomáha pri zabezpečovaní predmetov dejiny digitálnych hier, kľúčové české a slovenské hry, a to formou konzultácií ohľadom obsahu predmetov, ale zástupcovia taktiež realizujú i prednášky a workshopy priamo počas vyučovacieho procesu aj ako extrakurikulárne workshopy mimo oficiálnych prednášok či formou prezentácie a výstav digitálnoherného retro hardvéru a softvéru.
The company actively provides courses related to e-sports (personally, technically) and it also participates in organizing the University e-sports league. It helps technically and organizationally with the provision of electronic sports at FMK UCM and it also shares its know-how within the area of e-sports training specifics.
IGN is an international web portal providing and assisting in teaching subjects related to streaming, community management and game journalism. It does so through workshops and lectures. It offers opportunities for digital games theory student to do internships in journalistic and marketing positions. It helps to improve the technical support of streaming at FMK UCM.
Ritsumeikan University, Kyoto, Japan
The cooperation is based on information and know-how exchange within digital game education. The Japanese university provided design consulting on a digital game archive for FMK UCM’s. The archive is currently under construction.

Facultad de Comunicación, Universidad de Navarra, Spain
Long-term cooperation with Spanish experts on media education and media communication. Joint publication activities, participation in conferences and project activities.
Specific activities carried out:
- partnership cooperation in the preparation and implementation of the project titled "Material and Didactic Support for Teaching Media Education through the Training Centre for Media at FMK UCM". The project was designed and implemented specifically for the needs of educational practice and it involved primary and secondary schools from all over Slovakia;
- workshop of Spanish and Slovak media education experts entitled “Educational Potential of New Social Media Platforms: the Case of YouTube and Instagram. Experiences from the Digital Media Literacy Field in Spain and Europe” (Trnava, 25. č. 2019);
- cooperation on the creation of selected e-learning lessons within a multimedia educational platform with a comprehensive e-learning course for students and a methodological portal for teachers focusing on educational strategies in media education (2019-2020).
Interaxion Group, Rome, Italy
Cooperation with the Interaxion Group organization, which is dedicated to the issue of family media education. Cooperation in the field of educating teachers and leading to competent and responsible handling of digital media, the use of digital educational platforms, and participation in workshops.
Instituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria (ICU), Rome, Ital
Cooperation with an Italian organization that deals with development projects within education, communication and the environment.
Specific activities carried out:
- participation in the international congress "UNIV 2019 - Getting Down to Business: The Transformative Power of Work", organized by ICU - Instituto per la Cooperazione Universitaria (Rome, April 2019);
- in the application of the so-called reminiscence technique and the development of productive media skills of the older generations. The technique was experimentally verified in the Terézia Vansová Senior Citizens' Home in Trnava as part of the Media Training Center project at FMK UCM (Trnava, 2019).
European Audiovisual Observatory, Strasbourg, France
Cooperation in research projects focusing on the issue of audiovisual media services:
- cooperation within the international research project "Mapping Report on the Rules Applicable to Video Sharing Platforms". The project focused on the issue of implementing European directives in the field of audiovisual media services in EU countries (2020-2021);
- cooperation within the international research project "Mapping of Media Literacy Practices and Actions in EU-28". The Department of Media Education was a co-investigator of the international project focusing on the issue of the current state of media and information literacy in 28 European countries (2016).
Université Sorbonne Nouvelle, Paris, France
Collaboration in research projects focusing on media education related issues and media literacy development.
Specific activities carried out:
- cooperation in the project “Public Policies in Media and Information Literacy in Europe: Training and Capacity-Building in the Digital Age”, coordinated by Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris. The project focused on pan-European research on public policies and implementation of media and information literacy development strategies in individual countries of the European Union (2013-2014);
- an invited lecture at the international conference “Public Policies in Media and Information Literacy”, organized by Sorbonne Nouvelle University (Paris, France, 12/2013);

Cooperation with the working group, which is an advisory body to the European Commission in the field of media education.

- Cooperation in the "EU Kids Online IV" project. The international scientific project focuses on risks and opportunities in the Internet environment for children and adolescents in the countries of the European Union;
- cooperation in research activities within the Slovak Thematic Network, which is part of the EU Kids Online project. (2014 - ongoing);
- cooperation in the research "BIK Map II - Policy Mapping of the European Strategy for a Better Internet for Children", implemented within the EU Kids Online IV project. (2017);
- cooperation in the scientific monograph Digital Childhood, which is one of the Slovak publication outputs implemented within the activities of the EU Kids Online project (2019).
Die Gesellschaft für Medienpädagogik und Kommunikationskultur (GMK), Bielefeld, Germany
In particular, the cooperation takes place within the Global Media Literacy professional group. GMK is the largest professional association in Germany, actively operating in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, uniting experts in the fields of science, research and practice. The Global Media Literacy professional group works with many foreign organizations and is a co-founding member and part of the international forum for media pedagogy and literacy - IAME (International Association for Media Literacy, www.iame.education).
