Admission procedure for Bachelor's studies

Applicants who have completed secondary school with a secondary school diploma may apply for the Bachelor's degree. In assessing applications, we take into account:

grades in profile subjects: Slovak language and literature, English/German language, social studies;
the results of the external part of the matriculation examination in a foreign language (B2 or B1), or a certificate at B1 - C2 level;
study average, especially for applicants for Mass Media and Marketing Communication.

Applicants for external studies will be admitted without an entrance examination.

Specifics of the individual study programmes

Mass Media and Marketing Communication:

Applicants with a grade point average of 1.30 or below do not need to take an entrance exam.
Holders of a certificate in a foreign language (C1, C2) do not have to take the language exam.

Applied Media Studies and Media Relations:

Applicants will be admitted without an entrance exam on a first-come, first-served basis.

Digital Game Theory:

All applicants will take an entrance exam. The exam includes an oral interview (online).

Digital Design:

Applicants will be admitted based on their high school results and their portfolio scores (e.g., visual identity elements such as logos, typography, etc., key visuals such as flyers, posters, etc., web or mobile app designs, 3D visualizations, and similar design work).

7 February: Open Day

April 30: Application deadline

Submit your application by April 30. Please make sure you have all the necessary attachments (details below > How to apply). We will send you an invitation to take the tests in a month or so.

This applies to all study programmes except Digital Design - which has a delayed application deadline.

We are sending out two invitations:

You will receive notification in the post from the study department that we are registering your application;
In addition, approximately 3 weeks before the admissions deadline, we will email you the login details for the testing platform.

7 June: application deadline for DIDI

The only degree programme that has a delayed application deadline is Digital Design.

June: Admission tests in Trnava

The tests are taken online, in the computer lab in the FMK UCM building in Trnava.

If you hold a certificate in English at C1 or C2 level, you only take a test on general knowledge and professional outlook.
We do not allow rescheduling the tests to another day or time for logistical reasons.

Test results tend to be published on the same day in the evening. However, you will not know the overall verdict until later - read on.

You will receive your report cards

As soon as you graduate, send us certified copies by post

of your school leaving certificate,
year-end report cards.

Don't put it off - keeping track of all applicants' report cards is a logistical challenge.

Early July: Admissions Committee Meeting

Once all attachments have been processed, the Admissions Committee meets to review the rankings and determine a pass threshold.

July: Result of admissions

ASAP after the admissions committee meeting, we send the admissions result decision. We send the document by post in our own hands. If you are going to travel, please remember to authorize your parents to receive the parcels in their own hands.

July: Enrolment in Year 1

Along with your admission decision, we will send you instructions on how to send an electronic return.
By sending it, you are enrolling in 1st grade. In August, we'll add you to a Facebook group and start communicating with you.
