Our doctor spoke on Radio Expres about hate speech on the internet

The assassination of the prime minister is an extreme example of how far hate speech can go, says Dr. Hladíková.

Our doctor Vladimíra Hladíková spoke about hate speech on social media on Radio Expres's Veľké správy (Big News) program. The key topic of the news was the spread of so-called "hate speech" on various platforms. According to experts, the problem has escalated following the recent attack on the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic.

"The assassination attempt on Prime Minister Robert Fico in Handlová is an extreme example of how far such hateful expressions can go," Dr. Hladíková told Radio Expres.

"In the online space, these expressions are often spread through social media or other platforms where user anonymity can encourage impunity," she added.

The current situation is the result of long-term polarization in society. According to Hladíková, it is important to realize that spreading hatred can have real consequences. You can listen to the full report at this link in the recording from May 17 at 12:00 p.m.
