Digital design

This career-oriented degree programme prepares people to work as a designer specialising in digital. Students will gain an understanding of visual communication, hone their visual thinking skills and learn to design appealing and functional interfaces such as websites, online applications, mobile apps, infotainment and dashboards.

The Digital Design degree programme is built on subjects that reflect the requirements of practice. Upon graduation, male and female graduates will be prepared to work in digital agencies, graphic design studios, technology firms, corporate UX/UI teams, startup teams or freelancing.

Typical job roles:

UI Designer: Designs digital interfaces for online applications, mobile apps, dashboards, infotainment, etc.
UX Designer.
Graphic Designer: Creates graphic deliverables of all kinds, from banner ads to digital illustrations and infographics to visual identities.
Motion Designer: Designs animations and interactive elements for digital media, advertising and video production.
Mobile App Designer: Specializes in designing interfaces for mobile apps with an emphasis on UX/UI.
Web Designer.
Brand Designer.

What you will learn

The study focuses on acquiring the practical skills necessary to successfully handle a diverse range of design projects. Students will gradually learn:

Design digital interfaces - from websites to mobile apps with an emphasis on user experience (UX/UI);
build a visual identity for brands - from logos to colour schemes to graphic manuals;
create animations and interactive elements for digital media, advertising and social media;
work with professional software such as Figma, Adobe CC, etc;
design and test prototypes - you will learn the iterative design process and methods used in practice;
creatively solve visual challenges and understand how colour, typography and composition affect the perception of content.

Admissions and deadlines

In the 2025/2026 academic year, applicants will be admitted based on their high school performance and portfolio scores.

Examples of appropriate outcomes for the portfolio include:

Elements of visual identity (logo, typography, etc.),
key visuals (flyers, posters, etc.),
website or mobile app designs,
3D visualisations and similar design work.

Applicants upload a portfolio of three works via a form that will be emailed to them via the email provided in the application form, usually within 3 working days of receipt of the application. The portfolio will be evaluated by a committee consisting of FMK educators and industry experts.

The admissions committee will decide on the outcome of the admissions process and will determine the final threshold of admitted candidates based on the ranking of the two data (academic results + portfolio scores, weighted 50:50). Applicants will be informed of the result of the admission procedure by an official letter.

This programme of study does not continue at Master's level. Graduates of the Bachelor's degree may apply for the Master's degree of other study programmes if they wish.
