ISIC (International Student Identity Card) is an internationally recognized card that certifies your status as a student. It is issued in approximately 130 countries around the world. Card holders can apply for various discounts and benefits at partner companies and organisations - especially when travelling. ISIC is also used for authentication when using certain services at the university.

Every full-time student receives an ISIC card automatically - you do not need toapply for it. It is made from the details you enter on the return form sent to you with your university admission notification.

First-year students can collect their ISIC during September from 8.00 a.m. to 2.00 p.m. in room S 0.6 on the ground floor of the UCM building on Náměstí Jozef Herda.

The card is valid for 1 year, after which it must be renewed by purchasing a prolongation stamp.

External students are entitled to a special card.

Instructions, news, and events for students are concentrated on Faculty Sharepoint. We post the most important of these announcements on the @fmk_insider instagram feed. We mainly use the faculty Facebook and Instagram accounts to communicate with the public. We encourage you to check your university email regularly so that you don't miss important information.

Important: All communication with lecturers and people from the university is done exclusively via university emails. This means that you write from your ucm-email to another ucm-email. We do not handle messages addressed from private email accounts.

As a large faculty with a focus on Media and Communication Studies, we have specific literature requirements that go beyond the capabilities of the university library. Therefore, we operate our own specialized library that offers literature directly related to our disciplines. Our library can be found in a building in Jama.

For the duration of your studies, every student has access to Microsoft 365 - that is, Office, a few other apps, and OneDrive cloud storage for free. You can install the apps on up to 15 different devices: 5 computers, 5 tablets and 5 mobiles.

Erasmus offers you a unique opportunity to gain new experiences, improve your language skills and make friends from other countries. Studying at a foreign university will open your horizons, show you how things work beyond Slovakia's borders and strengthen your independence.

You don't have to be a language whiz. If you have English at B1 level, feel free to apply.

It's important to know that Erasmus is applied for a year in advance, so if you want to study in Year 2, you need to decide now. Selection procedures are usually in January. Follow us on Instagram - @fmk_insider, where we regularly inform you about upcoming selection procedures.
