This year's TVAT will bring great stories of responsibility, creation and inspiration
The fruitful discussions will once again be at the OKO Cinema. Registration for Science and Technology Week opens on Monday.
In November, Science and Technology Week will bring a series of discussions and lectures with prominent personalities from the media, gaming or marketing scene. From Monday 10 to Wednesday 12 November, students will be able to experience three days full of inspiring talks, real-life experiences and stories of how creativity turns into responsibility and passion into a profession.
The event will once again take place at the OKO Cinema this year and students will be able to register for individual talks via the Eventbrite platform . Registration will open on Monday, November 3, 2025 at 6pm.
Responsible Influencing and the World of Gaming Communities
The week will kick off on Monday with the discussion "Content Creation & Responsible Influencing", moderated by Magdaléna Švecová. The well-known Blue Grandma and her grandson, activist Marek Mach and human rights consultant Liberty Blake Simon will be on stage. The discussion will raise the topic of authentic online content and the responsibility of influencers at a time when social networks are shaping young people's opinions and values.
The morning will be followed by a lecture by Miriam Kubova from Nine Rocks Games. Under the title "The gaming community as an ecosystem", she will explain how to keep a community of gamers alive years after the release of a game.
Ten years of change in Slovak journalism and viral brands
On Tuesday, the focus will shift to media and marketing. Journalist and former editor-in-chief Beata Balogová will discuss "10 years at SME" and how the entry of an investor changed Slovak journalism and editorial independence.
Buba Mikušová, Head of TikTok at daren&curtis agency, will talk about how the shelf became viral. She will explain how Lidl and other brands are using TikTok to build community and entertaining but strategic content.
The day will be closed by game producer Marek Hlavatý from indie studio ARTillery, who will talk about the journey of the Slovak game Jotunnslayer: Hordes of Hel from idea to successful launch.
From podcasts to influencer marketing
Wednesday will be dedicated to media and branding. In the morning, students will learn "How the most listened podcasts in Slovakia are born" from Tomáš Prokopčák (SME and ZAPO), Simona Mičová (Bauer Media) and Patrícia Voľanska (Denník N).
In the afternoon, Tomáš Fongus, a graduate of FMK and personal photographer of Czech President Petr Pavel, will present his journey "from FMK to Prague Castle".
The week will close with two discussions on influencers and authentic marketing - with Jana Malaga, Tomáš Palovský and influencer lifebymatus, and then on how a hobby can become a profession, in the debate "From hobby to full-time job: Marketing from below".
