Similar to classrooms, studios are specialized workplaces that offer students the space and opportunities to put the theory they have learned directly into practice.
Currently, the following studios operate at FMK:

The studio of communication in the medium of photography deals with contemporary trends and strategies of the medium of photography with penetrations into sociology, psychology and the use of new approaches in the field of image aesthetics and interpretation of reality.
Students will gain practical experience and skills in the medium of photography, nonverbal communication and image literacy, and the history and theory of photography.
Cabinet work/internship includes the following activities:
- Lectures in the history of photography and the theory of photography,
- presentation of profiles and works of well-known photographers,
- screening of films about women photographers, authors and works in the field of photography,
- practical exercises and concepts on free and assigned topics.
AKMF activities:
- Participation in projects bringing together several universities in the field of the medium of photography,
- creation of grant projects in the field of the medium of photography (FPU, KEGA, etc.),
- Organisation of workshops in the field of photography and video/films,
- support for original and collaborative photography projects,
- regular organisation of invited lectures and discussions with prominent national and international photographers, as well as theoreticians and practitioners,
- exhibition activities of the Ľudovít Hlaváč Gallery,
- cooperation in the publication of creative yearbooks MUUZA.
Realized projects:
- Genius loci - Trnava walls,
- Inner Worlds (pictorial report on the village of Hybe),
- Archaeology of Time (pictorial report on the southern Zemplín villages of Brehov and Rad),
- Where Man and Water Spring (pictorial report on the village of Vyšné Ružbachy).
Studio of communication in the medium of photography can be enrolled as a compulsory elective subject in the years 2. Bc., 3. Bc., 1. Mgr., 2. Mgr. in the study programmes KOMU, MARK.

Atelier of Applied Photography (AUP) imparts craft skills to students, leads them to healthy professional habits and at the same time deepens their artistic sensitivity. Emphasis is placed on mastering a wide range of photographic genres. It is a theoretical and practical course and the teaching takes place directly in the studio. Students gain theoretical knowledge of fundamental texts in the field of visual communication, photography and their use in the context of media practice.
The lecturer is present throughout the creative process and reflexively addresses issues related to photographic production. In the form of consultation, personal approach (teacher - student), emphasis is placed on the creative process, analytical thinking, creativity, as well as on the technological mastery of topics and post-production of photographs.
Students independently respond to themes through studio work. The main emphasis is on the principles of digital imaging, its possibilities, advantages, disadvantages and limitations. At the same time, the course also serves as a space for personal, professional development of individuals, in the form of solving specific assignments. Students participating in the seminar also gain knowledge in the field of photographic marketing and personal brand development.
This studio used to be called the Studio of Reportage and Documentary Photography, which was founded and led for many years by one of the best Slovak photographers - Tibor Huszár. Currently, the studio is led by a representative of the current generation of professional photographers - Peter Lančarič.
The work/activity in the cabinet includes the following activities:
- Thorough theoretical and practical familiarization with photographic genres,
- development of craft and creative skills,
- access to a school-based, fully equipped photography studio,
- solving specific assignments from pre-production to post-production,
- building a photographic portfolio and developing a personal brand.
Activities aúf:
- Organisation of workshops (self-publishing, analogue photography, cyanotype and alternative processes),
- publishing photographs in print and digital platforms,
- development of personal artistic or applied work.
The studio auf can be enrolled as a compulsory elective course in the years 2. Bc., 3. Bc., 1. Mgr. a 2. Mgr. in the study programmes KOMU and MARK. By agreement, students in the first Bachelor's year may also enrol.

The KEFA studio is for all students who want to develop their skills in both classical and experimental photography. The aim of the studio is to stimulate students' creativity, teach them new photographic techniques and develop their ideas through photography.
In addition to the basic concepts of photography, students will learn to translate their ideas into photography through individual assignments, work with photographic genres, and create an exhibition of photographs from initial idea to final execution.
The studio is suitable for photography beginners and advanced students, and students are divided into groups based on their photographic skill. Each group then works on a different level of photography.
Studio work/activities include the following:
- Development of photographic skills,
- theoretical lectures and their subsequent application to the student's work,
- documenting FMK events,
- developing photographic assignments,
- participation in lectures and workshops.
KEFA activities:
- KEFA is the official photographic medium of FMK events,
- organization of experimental workshops,
- Clause exhibitions of students of the photo studio,
- participation in the creative yearbook of MUUZA students,
- participation of students in university and non-university competitions.
