The FMK at UCM received the highest rating in Slovakia in the field of media and communication studies
The Faculty of Mass Media Communication at UCM in Trnava has once again confirmed its place among the top institutions in the Slovak academic community. In the latest VER 2026 evaluation, it received the highest rating among all compared institutions in the field of media and communication studies. This result reflects not only the quality of its research but also the faculty’s strong ties to the professional world and its growing international reach.
The Faculty of Mass Media Communication at UCM in Trnava has reaffirmed its leading position in the field of science and research. In the latest periodic evaluation of research, development, artistic, and other creative activities—VER 2026—it received the highest rating in the field of media and communication studies among all evaluated Slovak institutions that offer education in this area. A total of six institutions were evaluated.
The evaluation results were officially published on June 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. by the Ministry of Education, Research, Development, and Youth of the Slovak Republic. Detailed results and quality profiles for individual institutions are available on the Ministry of Education’s official website and in the VER system.
FMK UCM Leads the Way in Research Quality Assessments in Slovakia
VER 2026 evaluated creative activity for the period 2020–2024 and assessed three key areas: the quality of scientific outputs, the societal impact of research, and the quality of the creative environment. The results represent an important tool for independent international evaluation and also serve as one of the key bases for funding universities in Slovakia.
The success of the FMK UCM is a testament to the long-term, systematic development of the faculty’s scientific and research activities, international cooperation, and contribution to society. It also confirms that the faculty is among the leaders in the Slovak academic community in the field of media and communication studies.
