FMK is strengthening partnerships and expanding its research activities in Croatia

The Faculty of Mass Media Communication at UCM in Trnava is developing international cooperation with Croatian partners, thereby strengthening research activities, professional contacts, and an innovative environment for students and practical training.

FMK UCM in Trnava has long been building high-quality international partnerships that contribute to the development of scientific research and the educational environment. Last week, representatives of the FMK participated in a working visit to Osijek, Croatia, where they continued their long-standing collaboration with the Academy of Arts and Culture.

As stated by Associate Professor Jana Radošinská, Vice Dean for Research and International Relations, cooperation between the faculties has been developing for more than ten years: “During this time, we have met with our colleagues at that institution on numerous occasions, including at scientific events, through joint publishing activities, mobility programs, and international projects.”

A long-standing partnership brings new opportunities

The working visit also included meetings with representatives of partner institutions. The FMK delegation held discussions with long-time collaborators Dr. Tomislav Levak and Professor Ivana Bestvina Bukvić, with whom the faculty maintains close professional and personal ties. Another significant moment was the meeting with the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business in Osijek, Professor Sunčica Oberman Peterka.

The visit also provided an opportunity to exchange experiences regarding infrastructure and technological facilities. Representatives from FMK familiarized themselves with the workplace’s equipment and how it is used in practice. “These insights will help us improve the efficiency of processes, innovations, and renovation work currently underway at FMK,” added Associate Professor Radošinská.

Face-to-face meetings strengthen professional ties

According to Andrej Brník, Vice Rector for Development and Public Relations, the working visit also made a significant contribution in terms of building relationships: “It brought us new contacts, strengthened friendships, and further solidified the long-standing cooperation between the universities.”

In addition to Associate Professor Radošinská and Vice Rector Brník, the study visit was also attended by Vice Dean Juliána Mináriková, Associate Professor Martin Solík, Dr. Martin Graca, Dr. Lucia Magalová, Dr. Bianka Francistyová, Dr. Lucia Furtáková, and doctoral students Martin Paučin and Mária Dolniaková.

International cooperation thus remains one of the pillars of the FMK UCM’s development. Connecting the academic community with international partners, exchanging experiences, and collaborating on joint projects create opportunities not only for the faculty’s growth but also for preparing students to meet the dynamic challenges of today’s media and communications landscape.
