High quality science arises where talent has equal opportunities.

Every year on February 11, International Day of Women and Girls in Science reminds us that scientific progress is based on diversity of perspectives, experiences, and talents. At the Faculty of Mass Media Communication at UCM in Trnava, science also has a clear female face. It is made up of female experts who are engaged in research, education, and connecting the academic environment with practice.

Our female scientists, researchers, and young scientists are involved in projects that respond to current social challenges—from media and marketing, through digital communication and digital games, to culture and the creative industries.

Their work extends beyond our university to the real world, where it finds application in cooperation with companies, institutions, and the non-profit sector. They are natural role models for students, showing them that science can be dynamic, creative, and socially relevant.

FMK UCM has long been creating an environment in which women in science have the opportunity to grow, develop their potential, and combine research with teaching. This is evidenced by numerous scientific projects whose research teams consist of talented scientists, both male and female.

International Day of Women and Girls in Science is therefore not only a symbolic celebration for us, but also an expression of gratitude. We would like to thank all the women at FMK UCM who, through their expertise, determination, and inspiration, prove that high-quality science arises where talent has equal opportunities.
