Students from the FMK presented marketing solutions for real companies and received feedback from industry professionals

During the winter semester, students worked on semester-long projects based on the needs of real companies. They received valuable feedback directly from marketing professionals.

Collaboration with the professional world is an important part of teaching at the Faculty of Mass Media Communication at UCM in Trnava. The faculty has therefore long provided opportunities for students to meet with experts in marketing, communication, and the business world. Thanks to this, students can work on real-world projects, receive professional feedback, and develop skills they will use in their future careers.

This is also evidenced by the final evaluation of selected term papers by students in the Marketing Management course, which took place at the FMK earlier this week.

During the winter semester, students worked on projects based on the real-world needs of specific companies and organizations, including Nestlé, Procter & Gamble, Elopak, and the Slovak Association for Branded Products (SZZV). Their work resulted in proposals for marketing solutions, which they presented to a panel of experts.

Experts from the field provided feedback

The evaluation also involved professionals from the field, who provided academic oversight of individual topics for the students throughout the semester. During the final evaluation, they also provided feedback on the students’ proposals and recommendations for further development of their solutions.

Representatives from several companies and organizations participated in the evaluation: Petra Csefalvayová (Incien), Dávid Pisarčík (Procter & Gamble), Michal Húska (Ministry of the Environment of the Slovak Republic), Samuel Kiss (Nestlé), Katarína Kretter (Envipak), Marek Brindzík (NaturPack), Roman Šterbák and Ľubomír Tuchscher (Slovak Association for Branded Products).

Linking theory with practice has been a part of the Marketing Management course for six years now. The collaboration is organized by the FMK UCM in Trnava in cooperation with the Slovak Association for Branded Products.

Dr. Renáta Miklenčičová represented the Faculty of Mass Media Communication as part of this collaboration. According to her, this initiative offers students the opportunity to work on real-world projects from the business world, consult their proposals with experts, and receive constructive feedback on their solutions.

“This form of instruction also helps students better connect the theoretical knowledge they gain during their studies with practical experience from the business world. While working on projects, they develop analytical and creative thinking, learn to work in teams, and present their solutions to a professional audience,” explained Miklenčičová.

“This form of instruction also helps develop their professional skills and better prepare them for the workforce after graduation,” she concluded. For many of them, this is an important step toward being better prepared for their future careers.
