The second edition of Design Talks will offer a glimpse into the world of illustration
This timely topic will appeal not only to design students, but also to anyone interested in the creative process, the workings of visual communication, and real-world work in the field.
The Faculty of Mass Media Communication at UCM in Trnava continues its series of Design Talks events, which aim to create a space for the design community to meet and share practical experiences and inspiration. The second installment of the series will offer a glimpse into the world of illustration and its connections to design, marketing, and visual communication.
Once again, the event will explore a topic that appeals not only to design students but also to anyone interested in the creative process, the workings of visual communication, and real-world work in the field. Today, illustration finds its place in editorials, brands, campaigns, and print media, and the second installment of Design Talks will focus precisely on its current form.
Helga Pavelková as a guest on Design Talks Vol. 2
The guest of the second event will be Helga Pavelková, who works professionally at the intersection of design, marketing, and illustration. She works at the creative agency Büro Milk as an art director and illustrator, and also works as a freelance illustrator.
She studied illustration at the Edinburgh College of Art in Edinburgh and subsequently at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava. Her work primarily focuses on editorial illustration for magazines, articles, and brochures. She also creates brand illustrations for companies. In addition to commercial projects, she pursues her own artistic work and has held two exhibitions.
In her lecture titled “Illustration Is the Language You Speak Fluently,” she will share his own practical experiences, offer her perspective on illustration as part of contemporary design, and demonstrate how an illustrator can contribute to various types of projects and collaborations.
