The application for the rigorosum examination must be submitted on the prescribed form to the Dean of the UCM Faculty (or to the UCM Rector for university programmes) through the UCM Academic Activities Department. The deadlines for submission are 31 March for the summer term and 30 October for the winter term.

Content of the application form
The application form must contain:
- Personal data and permanent residence of the applicant.
- Information about the applicant's university education.
- The title of the topic of the rigorous thesis.
Annexes to the application form
The application form must be accompanied by:
- A certified copy of the university diploma (not valid for UCM graduates).
- A copy of the state examination certificate.
- A copy of the birth certificate (for married applicants, also the marriage certificate).
- CV.
- If the applicant is a graduate of a foreign university, he/she must enclose nostrified educational documents.
- Written consent to the processing of personal data.
- Application for the preparation of the rigorous thesis in a language other than Slovak, if necessary.
Approval process
Once the application has been submitted, the department will check it for completeness. If it meets all the requirements, it will be forwarded to the committee for approval of the topic of the rigor thesis. Once the topic has been approved, the Dean of the Faculty or the Rector may appoint a consultant for the thesis.
Acceptance of the application
If the application meets all the requirements, the department will confirm its acceptance in writing and activate access to the Academic Information System (AIS). The applicant will receive a student ID code and information on the fees associated with the rigor examination.
